At present thereis adiscussion on how to control desires.Gurudev chinmayanada had stated in one of his discourses that if you attach yourself to higher desires by spiritual growth,(by constant study of scriptures) the other desires diminish and finally fade away.In other words it is a gradual spontaneous process just as adesire for a baloon drops as a person gets older.WE may still enjoy a baloon but do not get attached to it.AS swami tejomayananda once said "desires will continue to arise in the mind as long as the senses are interacting with the outside world.IT is how we react towards fullfilment of the desires or notgetting attached to the desires that one has to study in spirituality Suresh and Nirmala.
