You put it in your characteristic style. It may be there in your imaginary conversation - in the waking state all the shariira-s manifest - in the sense - the vasana-s, which are the kaaraNa, prompt desires in the intellect, agitations at the mental level and actions at the body level. Only in the deep sleep state, it(kaaraNa) alone manifests. Understanding of theses three states and the substratum, the turiiyam, is by discriminative analysis only - vichaara using viveka. Obviously it can be done only when the intellect has full potential - suukshma buddhi - subtle intellect that is in the waking state alone. That is the reason why, I was objecting simple direct paths etc - there is no problem to meditate on oneself - but what that oneself is one should also know and that is where pramaaNa comes to over help. I am all the time myself whether I know it or not whether I meditate it or not. I don’t need to meditate on myself to be myself. Without being myself I cannot meditate either. But what is needed is what is that myself that I am meditating on - And that is knowledge not just experience of myself. This has to be clear. It is not the experience of myself but the knowledge of myself. That is what scriptures keep on screaming at the top of their voice. shRiNvantu viswe amRitasya putraaH ayo dhaamaani divyaani santi vedaaham metam purushham mahaantam aadityavarNam tamasaH parastaat tvameva viditvaa amRitatva meti naaanyah panthaa vidyate yanaaya| Listen to you all - the sons of immortality You too, the indwellers of the heavens, I have realized the supreme being that which is beyond the change or death it is of the nature of ever effulgent beyond all darkness of ignorance You can also realize that too and reach that state of immortality, which is your birthright (since you are the sons of immortality) - for that, there is no other path other than knowledge. If ignorance is root cause - knowledge alone can remove the ignorance. Because of ignorance, I take myself what I am not. I can experience myself in the seat of meditation but I also need to know that is that I experience - that is knowledge of that experience - scripture alone can give us with no uncertain terms. Anyway I realize you are aware of it but cannot resist mentioning for the benefit of everybody else. Hari OM! Guest guest
My dear noble devotee of Sri Sankara Bhagavatpujyapada, It may be there in your imaginary conversation - in the waking state all the shariira-s manifest - in the sense - the vasana-s, which are the kaaraNa, prompt desires in the intellect, agitations at the mental level and actions at the body level. Thank you for the letter. I like your explanation of action which I also strongly believe and on which I have built my thesi; I call it a karmik theory of discourse analysis. No action in this creation can ever take place without a knowledge of it and knowledge (material ) is language and tracing the origins of language is diagnosing the the disease of the samsara. As you pointed out ,I am interested in a dissection of the samskara, guna, vasana, smruti complex for the sake of my research.Right now , I have no claims for the amanasa state and simply looking at the thoughts as a sakshi. That is for noble souls . Still there is kashayam in me . When I eliminate it ,then I will do that by fullmoon coolth grace of Sri Bala Sankara who has rained wealth in Perambayur. but the problem is without reaching them I will not be in a position to authoritatively talk about my theory. WHO IS IT THAT IS THE AUTHOR OF SPEECH? HOW DOES IT FLOW?
