We also come with three debts of karma: to the Gods, to the ancestors, and to the Gurus. We discharge our debt to the Gods by making the world a better place for our having been here. We discharge our debts to the ancestors by respecting the elders the way we would want to be respected when we are old and by nurturing the young people, teaching them the way we would like the world to become.
