Guest guest
Shree Vasant Godbole - welcome back to the advaitin group. We hope to learn from you. You mentioned about the cognitive science. Is this related to epistemological analysis. There is a famous text - Vedanta praribhaashha By Dharmaraja (Adhvarina? - I am not sure I got the last name right) - around 16th century. His son wrote a commentary on that book. Very classical work. If you have any thoughts on this subject, I would like to hear from you. > > --- vasant godbole <vggodbole wrote: > > > > > > My name is Vasant Godbole.I am settled in USA for > > the last 30 years.MY background is computer > > software.Recently I passed Veda parangata and Vedant > > parangata from Tilak Mahaaarastra Vidyapeeth. My > > interests are Sanskrit,Advait vedant,Western > > philosophy, philosophy of science and linguistics , > > critical philosophy and cognitive science.I think > > the advaitic interpretation of existentials of > > Brahman and Maya are insightful. But in Advaitic > > sampradaya that insight is loaded with lot of > > cultural trappings which may not have to be integral > > part of Advaitic philosophy. Is it possible to treat > > advait experience critically and glean > > trans-cultural essence?I would like to venture a > > project.I want to understand Shankarbhashya on > > Brahmasutra and extract the commentary that has > > bearing on his philosophy.I would like to present my > > thoughts(?) side by side in Sanskrit and English. It will be a welcome addition. We had some discussions on Brahmasuutra-s and due to pressure of time I had to postpone it. Hopefully will be resuming soon. We love to read your presentation. Hari OM!
