dear friends,

 

my main aim of initiating the topic was

 

1. to find a solution to the age old practice of vaishnavaites not

visiting shiva temples.

2. is there really any purpose in following these schools of

thought,which have divided the ways of worship.(especially in south

india)

3. the puranas and upanishads tell us somthing,where as the

intrepretations of these acharyas are leading us into avoidable

controvercies.

4. we are living in a different era than these learned acharyas.what

will the modern children learn from these.what are we leaving them

behind,do we require to continue teaching our children the

contovercial topics.

5. the bhagavad gita i think should be the veda and upanishad on

which we must rely and spread the same to all.there are many saints

who have lived with us,and told their experiences.these should form

the basic to all.

 

i agree that advaita is as tollerent as hinduism when it comes to

other schools of thought,but this cant be taken for granted.

to day in Hindu (english daily) there is a review of a book "The

Philosophy of Upanishads".the author of the book says that upanishads

are not in favour of Shankara.The advaidic concepts like maya and

jivanmukti is questioned.we had great jivanmuktas amidst us.Si ramana

maharishi is one. debates are still going on about the actual

philosophy taught in these texts and about the interpretation of some

crucial passages and even words.where as the gita says a diffrent

thing,ie a man can realise me in his self,the moment he does that he

becomes a yogi.

I just dont understand why are you getting disturbed all these things.

 

These things shd not obstruct ur spiritual Sadana.

 

If u really immersed in knowing urself.. U wont have time for all these.

 

 

Whatever the path may be ..the final goal is one.
