Guest guest
Pranams to all Acharyas! Namaste Stigji! Thanks for your scholarly response to my extempore reply, which I believe was penned with the wrong choice of words. My original intention was to discourage a heated exchange on the Shiva-Vishnu worship and the attitude of some of the vaishnavites in not recognizing Lord Shiva on par with Lord Vishnu. All I wanted to say was in support of a temperament of acceptance as Advaitins see it. Looking at the scholarly presentation in this forum, I feel like a child wondering at the elephant or mountain or ocean. I must admit that I am a late initiate to the Advaita philosophy of Sankara , although by smartha tradition we are followers of Sankara Mutts. I come from a village in Tamilnadu where we had been brought up to worship all Gods and Goddesses, and venerate all Acharyas, and had no proper initiation into the different branches of Vedanta. All we learnt, rightly or wrongly, was selections from few books which didn’t educate us much on the intricate philosophic details. I and other new initiates into AdvaitaVedanta are fortunate that we have at last found a forum from which we can get glimpses of the Genius of Advaita from the scholarly discussions of Advaitins like Sadanandaji, ProfVKji, RamChandranji, Nairji, Kenji, Sundarji, Anandji and yourself! Guest guest
namaste, to all advaitins i am glad that the topic i had chosen is misleading, in that you might be thinking i am not a advaitin and trying to find some responce. why i asked the question is not that iam not convinced about the philosophy of advaita by great shankara, but try to find answers for the questions raised by vishistadvaitins. so dont mistake me.i am still a novice trying to enquire about my self,as told by sri ramana maharishi. i am really fortunate to find a group like this.you dont require any guru,in your spiritual path, all you require is a satsang where you can exchange your views. any individual who knows the path can never be confused by other thoughts. i will come back to that later. thanks,to stingji. can know the real identity. cdr bvn advaitin, kalivaradhan krishnamurthy <kali_1947> wrote: > Pranams to all Acharyas! > > Namaste Stigji! > > Thanks for your scholarly response to my extempore > reply, which I believe was penned with the wrong > choice of words. Guest guest
Hari OM! Blessed Vaidyanathji, Advaita or realization is not for asking questions and getting satisfiable answer, it is only a tool to help us to know the reality, Very rare people realized without a GURU, like, Ramana Maharishi, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Rama Krishna Paramahamsar etc... GURU is very much required to have Jnana,& realization, and you do not have to search for a GURU. He appears before you when the time comes. And GURU is not somebody who is on Orange clothes and with a Beard! When there is a point, that no thoughts in your mind. As Poojya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanadaji says: "When the last thought thoughtened" Then you are realized, The more answer you get from the questions, the more questions you have to ask again. With Love & OM! I would like to > encourage all the silent participants to make their voices known Namaste, Let me add my voice to Sada-ji's! There has been discussion of Sankranti, Uttarayana, etc. The epic name that one has to recall on this occasion is that of Bhishmacharya from Mahabharata. Bhishma's name is synonymous with 'pratij~nA' - bhiiShma- pratij~nA means a vow or pledge, that is kept at any cost. The fruits of such a vow are thousand-fold; and who would not like to offer such plentiful fruits to the Supreme Spirit? Let everyone take a pledge to contribute to the Satsang to whatever extent possible as an offering. Regards, Sunder
