Vivekachudamani & SAT-like Assessment

We have started listening to audio lectures on Vivekachudamani in

our weekly Satsang meetings. Assessment they say is an integral part

of any learning. I decided to try my hand at creating SAT-

like quizzes so that participants can review and test their

learning. These are multiple choice questions and helps one to

test their understanding.

To take the quiz, visit this web-site, add your name to the test..

At this stage only a few slokas are covered - hope to add more when

time permits. I am also looking for more questions to increase the

question pool..

Dear Shri Sundar Rajan,

will it be possible for you to let me know the place and timing of your Satsangs

and the restrictions, if any, for one to join the group for ones benefit?

The questions pool is comprehensive from the subject's point of view. Yet,A

gradation of quizes, depending upon the studeants' level of accomplishment and

exposure, could make a difference.

Dear Shri Swaminarayan,

I am glad you find the quiz useful. Our Satsang meetings take place

weekly at one of the member's house in Sacramento, Northern

California. Obviously this limits the audience. A web-based Satsang

where the members all meet virtually and listen to the same topic or

speech would be good. I am not a big believer of study groups but

find lot of value in listening to the scriptures from a great

teacher such as Swami Paramarthananda.

I did the quiz for my own interest and see a lot of value in using

the web effectively even for Satsangs.

Sundar Rajan

Namaste

I am happy to see Swami Paramarthanandaji mentioned by Sundarji. I had the

good fortune of listening to his many discourses on Gita, Niti Shatakam,

Upanishads in Mp3 formats. Regards.

Dear Shri Bhaskar

http://www.yogamalika.org/newweb/yogahome.html

You can go to this URL and click on "Listening room" and listen to

some of the audio recordings using real player on your computer. You

cannot download these into MP3 files. However you can write or call

Yogamalika (see under 'Contact') and order the audio tapes or MP3

cds from the Catalog.

Once you have audio tapes it is possible to convert them to MP3

using your PC and a audio player.

regards

Sundar Rajan
