Guest guest
Dear all, My first book of about 90 essays is likely to be published within the next few months. I would like each of you to suggest the names/email addresses of friends who might be interested in buying the book. You can send as many names/email addresses as you like. This will help us to prepare a customer list and assist in marketing and distributing the book and/or placing the book in a bookshop near you. Also, those of you who wish to have a copy of the book may email me at ashok_gollerkeri We will add you to the customer list and intimate you as soon as the book hits the stands. If time and inclination permit, I would like to hear from you whether and how my writing has inspired and/or benefited you. Your participation and support has been precious to me and has inspired me to continue writing. Thank you very much. Love and best wishes to all of you, Ashok Gollerkeri ashok_gollerkeri
Guest guest
I am sorry to say that you didn't even utter a word about the long discussion we had on your last post on 'aloneness'. That was not a very inspiring act. However, I would still say your thoughts are really tall. So, here is wishing best of luck with your book. Guest guest
Namaste Nairji: You have raised a valid point with respect Sri Ashok Gollerkeri's advertisement about his book in the list. Also authors such as Ashok Gollerkeri needs to be aware about Internet copyright laws, rules and conventions: Ten Big Myths about copyrights are explaind at the Website: http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html "If it doesn't have a copyright notice, it's not copyrighted." This was true in the past, but today almost all major nations follow the Berne copyright convention. For example, in the USA, almost everything created privately and originally after April 1, 1989 is copyrighted and protected whether it has a notice or not. The default you should assume for other people's works is that they are copyrighted and may not be copied unless you know otherwise. There are some old works that lost protection without notice, but frankly you should not risk it unless you know for sure." The who posted materials on this list still enjoy their rights to authorship, and those use those materials without permission are liable. Those who publish books with monetary rewards are liable for violations of copyright if they have used materials published (posted in list discussions) in the Internet. I want Sri Ashok Gollerkeri to make a note of the International Copyright laws and abide by those lawas. Sri Ashok Gollerkeri is obligated to acknowledge the members of the list who have provided valuable comments and references if he had used them in one of those essays. Finally, let me join you to wish Sri Ashok good luck in his book venture.
