lord shiva danced in five places in this world.they are

 

1.thiruvalangadu. rathna sabai anugraha thandavam

 

2.kanaka sabai ponnambalam anada thandavam chidambaram

 

3.velli ambalam madurai sandya thandavam

 

4.thamira sabai thirunelveli muni thandavam

 

5.chitra sabai-thirukutralam thirubura thandavam

 

of these the temple at thiruvalangadu is older than chidambaram where

he danced for karakal ammaiyar.i am sure all are aware of the history

of karaikal ammmaiyar.
