Guest guest
Om Shanthih, Shanthih, Shanthih !!! Dear Ramji: Yesterday morning about the same time you were posting this post, I was reading a little pamphlet on Indian customs by Swamini Vimalananda and Radhika Krishnakumar. Something I picked up at the Chinmaya Mission, the current focus of the children's class which I attend in lieu of the adult class on Sunday mornings:-) My choice. Or is it? (Maybe it is the bhajans near the end of the class.) Anyway, my focus of the morning was the why of saying OM, shaantiH, shaantiH, shaantiH... thrice. And the meaning of each OM, shaantiH...so, thanks to you, I got it twice. And now makes thrice :-) According to the pamphlet..."It is believed that trivarum satyam-that which is said thrice comes true." So, on the Meaning of Consciousness of One, I say to thee... We Are All Connected...Seamlessly At the Heart... One to the Other...ONE OM, shaantiH, shaantiH, shaantiH EternaLove, Joyce PS Happy Spring to All!!! > Peace is the light that illuminates the world and the True Human > Nature is to remain at peace. Guest guest
Namaste dear Lady Joyce: Let us take a moment to recollect the well known picture of three wise monkeys symbolizing 'see, hear and speak no evil.' The three times chanting of three times 'Shanthih,' is remind us that peace is internal and the only way to retain it is by closing all sensory perceptions. We have more to learn from monkeys and the following cyberspace poem, "Three Monkeys Agree 'Tis Man's Disgrace!" provides an important message: Three monkeys sat in a coconut tree Discussing things as they are said to be Said one to the others, "Now listen, you two, There's a rumor around that can't be true That man descended from our noble race The very idea is a great disgrace." "No monkey has ever deserted his wife Starved her babies and ruined her life And you've never known a mother monk To leave her babies with others to bunk Or pass from one on to another Till they scarcely knew who is their mother." "Here's another thing a monkey won't do Go out at night and get in a stew Or use a gun or club or knife To take some other monkey's life Yes, man descended, the ornery cuss But, brother, he didn't descend from us." Author unknown ======================== Except for the human race, the animal and plant species do obey the law of nature enjoy peace that coexists with the nature!
