April Month Focused Discussion: Fate and Free-will

Namaste:

The list propose to undertake one important aspect of Advaita Vedanta

Topic per month on a regular basis. For the coming month of April,

Sri Dennis Waite agree to lead the discussion and Sri Sadananda will

be the list designated moderator of this discussion. This team of Sri

Dennis and Sri Sadananda will provide necessary insights and

clarifications to the list members on this topic.

The list entertained quite a few discussions on various topics durng

the past five years and most of them provided both baisc and advanced

understanding on the subject matter of discussion. The main objective

of the list is to provide readers scholarly discussions that will be

retained in the archives for ever as future reference materials.

Shanthiji's suggestions regarding the 'length and volume of postings'

are quite valid and should be taken into consideration by the

discussion leaders and the participating members. Ideally, a posting

consisting of two to three paragraphs at a time with 'one or two key

points' will provide enough incentive for members to read and

respond. Also members should refrain from sending quick replies and

instead, take time to contemplate and respond with valuable insights.

Since the discussion topic will be active for the entire month, we do

have sufficient time for reading and responding.

On behalf of all the members, let me thank Sri Dennis and Sri

Sadanand for undertaking this noble task of conducting discussions

on "Fate and Free-will."
