Guest guest
Namaste! I have pasted all of the free will messages into a Word document so I could highlight the more interesting parts and study them. This enables me to do a word count. For your information, there are over 100,000 words in all of the messages on the Fate and Free Will topic. That's a lot of words! Are we making progress? Is anybody's mind being changed? Is this discussion worth it? Sri Ram, I did enjoy your insightful recent message listing the 4 different basic contentions on free will. I did not quite agree with all of it, but I appreciated your attempt to rise above the fray and put things in perspective. That is definitely the right attitude. I am becoming a bit annoyed at all list members - including myself - for what I perceive as a certain stubbornness. Are we really trying to become wiser? Or are we just trying to defend our petty points of view? Perhaps we need more silence and introspection, as when the ancient rishis retreated alone to the forest. (Oh, and by the way, I haven't changed my mind!) Om! Benjamin

Namaste, Each one will have to do the 'litmus test' for oneself! 1. Ecclesiastes test: 1:18 - " For in much wisdom is much grief; and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow." 2. Gita test : ........................................ yajGYaatvaa neha bhuuyo.anyajGYaatavyamavashishhyate .. 7\-2.. (......."[knowledge and realization,] which having been understood nothing further remains to be known here in the world.")
