Guest guest
Namaste All, This paraphrasing of Sri Sankara puts to bed many arguments. For it is truly only unreal for those that have achieved 'Realisation'. It is not the same thing to know what a king is and being one. So all the duties and protection of Ahimsa etc have to be carried out as if this world were actually real. This would happen anyway for the doer isn't us. However we can take responsibility for our actions mentally and so incur karmas. For example I believe Ahimsa can involve actual violence, in the case of a soldier or policeman saving someone else's life etc. So it means more non hurt than it does non violence.IMO. Ramakrishna said if one barks like a dog one doesn't need to bite.... Advaitins in my opinion should not be emotional Bhaktas blinded by such. Following Advaita/Jnana is itself Bhakti. One should use Sages as a guide not as a object to worship, for that is exterior and not internal. Realisation comes from introspect not the other....ONS...Tony.
