Guest guest
Dear Sadaji and others, Yes, that's is how it seems to me as well. Jay's statement that he is trying to understand Advaita better by being on this list does not appear to reflect his actual feeling and conviction. I do not see Jay's having a different set of interpretations than others as a major issue. Everyone one is certainly welcome to their own view and to believe that the view they hold is the correct one. In fact, in most Indian families it is not uncommon for people to have different Ishta Devatas. The practical difficulty lies in imposition of will on the Advaitin list members who are more interested in Sri Shankracharya's teachings and not as much in Sri Jay's (which are nonetheless beautifully expressed). I would suggest that Jay form his own list and advertise it here on Advaitin. People who are interested in his message can join it and they, along with Jay, can have a beautiful discussions and satsang together. Sri Sadaji, writing the book based on what you have posted on the lists is a wonderful idea. I will be in line to buy such a book. I hope that Jay can also get a hold of the book and if he is truly interested in learning more about Advaita, can study it deeply. Finally Jay, know that Self-Realized sages and saints are not merely parrots and bookworms who recite and interpret sanskrit verses all day long. Beyond words and language, there is the Silence that is the Self radiating as Sat-Chit-Ananda. That beauty of that Abundant Fullness --- words can only indicate and not capture. It is like eating a cold Rasgulla or drinking fresh dark sugarcane juice with spices and ice in it in the heat of the summer. One has to taste it. According to scriptures and our sages, the two things needed on the spiritual path are Varaigya and Abhaysa (detachment and spiritual practice). The more you stay with it the more subtle and refined your understanding will become. Detachment ultimately means detachment from the mind itself. Without detachment from the mind, one cannot surrender to the Lord of the Heart. Practice ultimately means to remain steady in the Self without distraction or (if you are a worshipper or Bhakta) to always be in the awareness of God-love or God-feeling. God bless everyone with all good things Love to all Harsha > > kuntimaddi sadananda <kuntimaddisada > 2003/05/16 Fri AM 08:39:33 EDT > advaitin > Re: Re: j~nAna and bhakti > > > --- Ranjeet Sankar_s <thefinalsearch wrote: > > Namaste Jayji > > > I know where you are heading...from black-list to dark-list !! > > > > Om > > ranjeet > > > Ranjeetji, Here is how I look at it: > > I ( I am sure many members of this list) discovered long ago that Jay > has set mind and his own understanding of what is pramaaNa and what are > valid to get his message across.
