Namaste All, IMO,

It seems simply that Jnana is the intellectual route and Bhakti the

energy or emotional one. As the body is primarily an ape, then the

emotional or bhakti route is the most tangible and easier to slip

into. It is marrying the mind with the inner energy that is the end

result and moksha.

Most humans and all animals have an underdeveloped or potential

vijnanamayakosa, but all have the lower mind and energy/emotion.

Maharaj says that only one person in a city the size of Mumbai can

understand advaita properly, even intellectually, never mind realise

it. That boils down to about 60,000? people on the planet and then

only a small percentage achieve moksha. This is why Sankara

said 'Bhaja Govindam', for as animals we can understand Bhakti better

and more easily. Bhakti with a dose of Jnana is the easier

route...This is why Ramana and such sing bhajans etc etc as an

example of harnessing the inner animal energy as devotion..

However education is the only reason for jnana The Ko-San Bushmen of

the Kalahari in Africa have a saying I always remember.

'Somewhere there is a dream dreaming us'

and that without reading one scripture.

..ONS...Tony.
