Without going to the specifics, here is my understanding.

Gods grace is always there -

He declares: samoham sarva bhuuteshu ..

I am impartial to all beingings - neither I hate anybody nor favour

anybody. So grace is distributed for asking whoever he/she/it may be.

The more one asks the more one gets since it is of infinite inexaustable

souce - provided one knows how to ask. One need to file proper forms in

proper format for that!

Now let us examine what exactly this grace.

Knoweldge cannot be willed by human intellect - all one can do is

prepare the mind and contemplate with it. The knowledge comes to the

mind that is qualified. That is the law of the nature. If it did not

come it only means the mind is not ready.

We call it as a grace of god -or one can say we are lucky when we know

that we have not directly worked for it. But getting something without

working for it illogical. All it means we have no knowledge of why we

deserve the grace - although we have earned by our effort only by good

deeds in the past - that includes past lives. This is called adRishTa or

unseen. That is only a graceful way of saying it is a grace of God -

and a socalled irrational intellect may say "I am lucky". So Benjamin

the divine will there is free will that was exercized in the past.

Remember - I have freedom of choice until I realize my freedom from

choice.
