Para Brahman means above or super Brahman, which again is a rather positive term, unlike Nir Guna/Nir Vana etc. Obviously apples and oranges are being mixed here in verbiage. One point I have is that many people hang on to Sat-Cit-Ananada for they are terms and qualities the mind can appreciate. Many don't want a Brahman that is Nir Guna for this brings up the primeval fear of 'Personal Extinction'. So many people talk the talk but don't really want to walk the walk. As Nisargadatta implied only 1 in 10 million can understand Advaita even intellectually. This is why Sankara emphasised what people could understand. IMO If one needs a positive term to appreciate the idea of Nirguna then one is not a true advaitin. For the mind is hanging back trying to explain the inexplicable. I doubt anything that I have said contradicts the ultimate teachings of any Sage. I write one liners off my head because that is the essence I see. I am not trained in philosophy and don't have the vocabulary to write reams. However I'm in good company Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was a virtual illiterate..............ONS...Tony. Note to Tony from the List Moderators: >From what you have stated that you have language difficulties and partly explains the misunderstandings. We do need to recognize that different people see the essence differently, and we can't ask everyone to accept the essence that we see! Please note that Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa's virtual illiteracy got fully eradicated by gaining Infinite Wisdom!!
