When one transcends one's own mask, others masks disappear as well. That is the essence of all love and beauty and truth. If one embraces God, one cannot remain separate as the one who is embracing and experiencing God. In the embrace of God, the true beloved, only God remains as Love ItSelf. The love you are referring to is the lahari of Sankara. When this is understood, advaita triumphs. Very timely, indeed. Pranams.
