Guest guest
Namaste: Sri Greg and Sri Benjamin have volunteered to lead the discussion - "Non-Existence of Objects" during October. I request Sri Gregji to write a brief paragraph on what this the subject matter of this topic. This will help the members to get ready for the october discussion. The list is also looking for more volunteers to lead discussions on topics focusing on the important subject matters of Sankara's advaita philosophy or closed related subject matter. Those who want to volunteer can contact me or other list moderators when they are ready. Ideally, the list wants to finalize the November and December topics before the end of this month. Potential topics for consideration: 1. advaitic models of srishti-drshti vada (what has been created is what is perceived) - suggested by Bhaskerji and also Gregji' 2. Naive Realism - the philosophical doctrine that physical object continue to exist when not perceived (suggested by Gregji) 3. Perspective of Bhagavad Gita as the Yoga Sastra? 4. Perspective of Bhagavad Gita as the Brahma Vidya? 5. Historical perspective of Shankara's Advaita philosophy I hope to hear from potential volunteers. (please note that a team of several members can join together and lead the discussion) regards, Ram Chandran
Guest guest
Namaste: October's discussion will start off with a paragraph or two on the topic and its relevance to advaita vedanta. Sri Benjamin will have something written up as well. We'll post it October 1st. BTW, what's August's topic? --Greg
