Namaste,

If anyone cares, or even remembers me, let me explain why I am no

longer contributing to this group. It is because I became

dissatisfied with my tendency to get caught up in arguments and to

feel the compulsion to answer every objection. This became an

obstacle to my sadhana. So I decided the best thing was for me to

concentrate on writings essays, which puts me in a much more peaceful

and meditative mood. Here is a new essay on Indian Nondualism for

your consideration:

In accordance with what I just said, I will not answer objections to

my essay on this list. Instead, I will take note of some of the more

pertinent questions that I encounter, either on this list or on my

own. Then I will try to answer them as thoughtfully as possible in

an Appendix, which I will add to a revised version of my essay. Not

only does this 'delayed' approach avoid the 'rat-tat-tat' online

discussion, but also the whole discussion (essay and objections)

remains together in one convenient package.

From time to time I will update this essay, not only with answers to

questions, but also with other supplementary material. If you are

interested, you can occasionally check the Files section of my list

(whose URL is in the essay), but to do so now requires that you

join the list.

Namaste Sri Benjamin:

First I want to assure you that we do care and we do remember you as

a person with great enthusiasm and deep interest in philosophies that

focus on non-dualism.

Your essay on Indian Nondualism is quite substantive and insightful.

I fully respect your thoughts on this complex subject matter, though

I may not agree with everything what you have said in that essay. I

agree with your thoughtful observation on the pitfalls of 'rat-tat-

tat' online discussion. Sometime back Sri Gummuluru stated on

measuring 'spiritual maturity' through some indicators. I believe

that your new approach to online discussions is a wise one and

affirms your 'spiritual maturity.' Honestly speaking, the list

doesn't encourage any member to engage in online discussions using

the 'rat-tat-tat' approach. The list also discourages complete

silence of members (ignoring an important Satsang on a serious and

complex subject matter)who do not like to share 'His gift of

knowldege.'

I certainly plan to visit your file section to read your well written

essays on topics of my interest.

Warmest regards,

Ram Chandran
