Guest guest
Hello Ananda, As you say it is the case that analogies can point towards a reality and in a limited way express it. In the case of adhyasa it seems to be much more than that, almost having the status of a reflection of the working of Absolute Reality. That isn't remarkable because in Advaita knowability and the being of anything is identical. Br.Up.II.iv.6:" Beings oust one who knows them as different from the Self. All ousts one who knows it as different from the Self." In the commentary Sankara writes: "Because everything springs from the Self, is dissolved in It, and remains imbued with It during continuance, for it cannot be perceived apart from the Self. Therefore everything is the Self." Thanks for your clarification of a difficult area, Best Wishes, Michael
