Guest guest
friends, Renunciation is the corner stone of spiritual progress. One should be compleately detached even if one is obliged to act in the level of appearance. the definition of sanyasa as per Swami Gnananda Giri of tapovanam," Renunciation is deliverance from sorrow". This raminds us of the Upanishadic Injunction 'Tena tyaktena bhunjitha ma gridha' Thou shall gain by giving away; thou shalt not covet. the emphasis is not so much on external renunciation(although this is important as a preparatory discipline). there are two kinds of renunciation-external and internal, it would be better to have internal than external. we should even "renounce the desire for sanyasa". for it is not the ochre robes and other insignia of the sanyasa-danda, kamandalu-that make one a Brahmanishta. It is emptying yourself even of the faintest trace of ego that is important.i think Dhyana alone matters, everything else-tapas,solitude,fasting-is secondary and has no direct bearing on "Realization".no spiritual practice has infact any intrincic value.one must just see which one is in fact a help towards meditation and which a hindrance. pranams cdr bvn ______________________ Want to chat instantly with your online friends?
