Guest guest
Naamaskar to all advaitins: Looks like I am already lagging behind in trying to understand the discussion at hand. I think Achaarya gave us an excellent example of this in his SaTpaDiistotra. satyapi bhedaapagame naatha tavaaham.m namaama kiinastvam . saamudro hi tar.ngaH kvcana samudro na taara.ngaH . Meaning as I have always understood it - Although this separated ness (bhedaa appears to) exists, I am yours but "YOU" are not mine; just like waves belong to the Sea and not the other way around (Sea does not belong to the waves). (Sadananda always uses the example of bangle, ring and the Gold.) Thus all the existence everything encompassed within the same "ONE". When we say everything I like to include animate or inanimate (lining / non-living) as we conventionally classify them. I draw upon Purusha suuktaa - tato viSva~N vyakraamatsaashanaanashane abhi That purusha encompassed (abhivyakraamat) living (sa + ashana = annamaya ) as well as non-living (an + ashana = annavirahita i.e. without food. When we say we can never know brahman completely. This so because by the time we come to know it it has already expanded (brahman - a classic concept of expanding universe). The currently known extent of the manifest universe is in the range of -16 meters 10 = 100 am = 100 attometers to 23 meters 10 = 100 Zm = 100 zettameters (~10 million light years) [ http://www.wordwizz.com/pwrsof10.htm ] (This may be already out-of- date!) Krishna says to Arjuna: Gita athavaa bahunaitena kiM GYaatena tavaarjuna . vishhTabhyaahamidaM kR^itsnamekaa.nshena sthito jagat.h .. 10\-42.. "But then of what avail is this detailed understanding of my manifestations to you, O Arjuna! I stand sustaining this whole world by one part of Myself."
