Here is what I think - 1 and 8 are separated by zero. Eight stands of

the 8 aspects of prakRiti - bhuumiraaponalo vaayu kham mano

bhuddirevaca| ahankaarmitiiyamme bhinna prakRitirashhTadhaa|| - says

Krishna that they are his lower nature and He is the one is separate

from this prakRiti providing the higher nature - between the one and the

prakRiti is the creation which essentially amounts to nothing (zero).

mayaa adhyakshena prakRiti suuyate sa charaacharam| One is in the higher

place and the eight is the lower place. One can put any number of zeroes

in between projecting the whole world of plurality - It is just the

basic prakRiti manifested in to plurality with under the power of the

Lord who is one without a second.
