What is the platform for ignorance and knowledge? It is the same platform, EGO,

i.e. I, consciousness limited (?) by self-ignorance. There is no question of

consciousness being limited, but it is “as if limited” (or limited “iva”).

Both ignorance and knowledge are in consciousness, i.e. I.

During deep sleep, the EGO is absent rather EGONESS of I is absent and pure I

shines in its own nature i.e. Ananda.

That is why on waking up we say “I slept so well, and I did not know anything”

at the same time there was experience of Ananda i.e. I experiences its own

nature of Ananda by itself without any experiencing medium. This experience of

Ananda is not limited by time, and that is why one cannot say for how many hours

he slept without referring to a watch. On waking up there is knowledge of Ananda

that was experienced and at the same time there was also knowledge of absence of

knowledge of anything. The later results in the shining of Ananda i.e. absence

of knowledge of “other” things or total ignorance of “other” things. Self always

shines as Ananda, both In Total Ignorance or Total Knowledge, with only

difference that in total ignorance one does not know that the Ananda is he

himself, and in the other case because of self knowledge he knows that he

himself is Ananda. The whole problem is because of partial knowledge, which

results in Mithyagnana, and subsequent samsaritwa.
