Guest guest
Hello Michael, It strikes me that your description of an object as "an open ended thing" is supported by the Sanskrit words 'jnyeya' and 'drishya'. In their classic usage to include all objects and objective functioning, these words are usually translated as 'known' and 'seen'. But the grammatical form is gerundive, which carries a particular sense of 'to be known' and 'to be seen'. The implication there is open ended. As an object is perceived by mind or senses, the perception always carries an open-ended implication that it is only from one point of view, and hence that there is more yet 'to be known' or 'to be seen' of what the object really is.
