In a way, one could compare these with what Kant suggested as foillows: Atmananda Kant 1.Outer self of man(physical, Empirical Self (what you see) mental and intellectual) 2.Inner self of man(Jiva, or Transcendental Ego(transcends bodies) kshara-purusha) 3. Self of Man(atman, JivAtman, Noumenal Self (non-sensual reality, thing-in-itself) or Akshara-prrusha) 4.The Self(param-Atman, God or Cosmos or Truth (systematic unity, purushottama, 'tat' or brahman or supreme & sufficient cause) transcendental Absolute) For more on Self, Mind, Soul, Consciousness, Philosohy of Bhagavasd Gita, convergence of western and eastern philosophies, relationship of Soul, Mind, and Self to Neo-Technologies, please visit www.PeopleSuperHighway.com All the best, Dave Anand In a message dated 11/24/2003 7:16:32 PM Eastern Standard Time, profvk writes: Namaste.
