One thing I should do is correct a crucial mistake in my previous post. I left the word "not" out at just the wrong place. See the last sentence in this paragraph: Atmananda applies a similar kind of analysis to what are called mental phenomena that he does to what are called physical phenomena. One of his approaches is that he treats it as part of the world. So it is definitely something that he is treating as the witness." Change this last sentence to read: "So it (the mind) is definitely NOT something that he is treating as the witness." Sorry about that!
