Namaste all.

I received last Wednesday from Amazon.com "The Book of One: The

Spiritual Path of Advaita" authored by our Dennisji. I am still

reading it with the ardour of a high school student.

Dennisji has done a wonderful job in covering the entire gamut of

advaita all the way from its Vedic roots to the masters of the new

age. The effort is commendable both for its contents and the way

they have been organized in a very systematic manner.

The paperback has eighteen chapters, perhaps an intentional or

unintentional take on the Bhagwad GitA, and makes very delicious

reading for an aspiring palate. No wonder therefore that veterans

like Sadaji, Francis Lucille, Gregji and others are all praise for

the book.

Dennisji, as we all by now know, is a systematic researcher. The

pains he has taken to collect, organize and elaborate information is

obvious from beginning to end.

As the veterans have eloquently noted, it is a precious reference

book too for all advaitins. We all know that Dennisji maintains a

well-organized, very helpful website. This book brilliantly

supplements his web efforts as, I have no doubt, it is going to be a

precious asset to libraries of philosophy the world over.

I thank and congratulate Dennisji for the great work and his ardent

love for advaita. He has done a great service to us all.

I would also like to request Ramji to initiate a discussion on

selected topics from the book, particularly on some of the

illustrative examples. Our members will certainly find them very

interesting to build on. I know that this may not be possible

immediately as the book is still new. However, this suggestion is

for the kind consideration of both Dennisji and his publisher,

whenever it is convenient for them to let us do so.

PraNAms.

Namaste Madathil Nair,

I was just going into the Amazon.com in search of some good book when I saw your

mail! I´d like also to get the Ashtavakra Gita, but I don´t know which

translation could be the best (or at least a good one). Could someone give me a

hint?

Thank you!

Regards

Celine

Namaste Celine-ji.

I have seen that Banji and Sunderji have replied your query about

AshtAvakra GItA.

Dennis-ji is a lover of that work and has referred to it in detail in

his book. Unmistakenly, he has also mentioned where you can find

it. I don't have his book right with me to quote him. I, therefore,

request Dennis-ji to help in the matter if the source he is deriving

inspiration from is different from those referred to by Benji and

Sunderji.
