Guest guest
Dear members of Advaitin Group, Perhaps, some of you would be knowing me as I have been associated with this list for long. Allow me to introduce myself. I am an alumnus of IIM calcutta and IIT Kharagpur. After my MBA from IIMC I did not take up a corporate career and started an organisation Parivaar, working fulltime for socially ostracized children from segments of orphans, children of women in prostitution, and street child (essentially children without a family support and a high degree of vulnerability). Parivaar Center is a Residential School for such children. In the first year 40 children have been identified for admission into the Parivaar Center through partner groups in the field. The Center is starting its operations in Jan. The set-up costs have been supported by corpoartes like RPG, Bata etc. For direct recurring expenses we have a Child Sponsorship Scheme through which individuals can extend support to one child at the Parivaar Center. Till now we have the support of 24 individuals supporting as many children. 19 of them are IIM Calcutta alumni. We quickly need to get support for remaining children so that we can include them too. I request you to disseminate about Parivaar to the other you are a part of, and other places where you could. The following two links are useful for dissemination. www.parivaar.org/EXEC.pdf www.parivaar.org/ChildSponsorship.pdf About Parivaar Center: Parivaar Center is a Residential School for orphans, children of women in prostitition, and street children (essentially children without families and with a high degree of vulnerability). These children have been selcted through groups working in the field with them (areas like Kalighat, Sonagachi, Kidderpore, Sealdah, etc.) Parivaar Center is providing Long-Term Formal Education to these children and empower them with options for a personally fulfiling and socially responsible livelihood. Each new individual extending support is destiny changing support for someone.
