Guest guest
Since you are in Bombay, there are many study goups run by Chimnaya Mission. The best way to learn is to attend the study group near to your place. Central Chinmaya Mission located in Bombay can advise you on these groups. The best introductory book is "Manual of Self-unfoldment" by Swami Chinmayanandaji. You can pick up that book any where Swamiji's books are sold. Hari OM! To really feel comfortable with the basic concepts and terminology, you can try the Commentary on Tattva Bodha by Swami Tejomayananda ( current head of Chinmaya mission). It is a small book. It covers all the concepts relating to three bodies, five sheaths ( Pancha Kosas),Three States , Jiva, Isvara and Brahman. If you can simultaneously make a conscious effort to understand the Sanskrit terms there in you will feel quite comfortable in most discussions. Namaste Mrushad, You have taken a seat, by joining this site, at a banqueting table groaning with sweet-tasting fruit harvested by fine minds from the bounteous fields of Holy Tradition and sruti. If you select the fruit particular to your taste now, in the moment, you will not be forced into indigestion by trying to take in too much at once. Through your general reading you will find that a particular word or idea will 'spark' for you......'By Agni, Agni is inflamed.' This will give you the light to take no more than the next step on the 'pathless path'. That step might be to pursue the contributors on this site for explanation and then really listen/attend to their replies and how they stir further questions in your own heart/mind. In this way we will all benefit from your enquiries as most of us are beginners, Happy study Ken Knight New Photos - easier uploading and sharing.
