Guest guest
Respected Members, Namaste, My very little understanding of Real and Unreal is as follows: Real is that (1) which never changes and (2) which has independent existence, i.e. it does not depend on any other thing for its existence. THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS IS REAL. Unreal is the knowledge of all Drishya i.e. objects, which have (1) no independent existence, as they depend on a substratum, (2) which are subject to continuous change, without affecting the substratum, (3) which are only forms appearing on substratum and have different names. THE KNOWLEDGE OF DRISHYA IS UNREAL AS DRISHYA ITSELF IS UNREAL. It is because the knowledge of drishya changes as the forms changes taking different names depending on the forms. Therefore, Real is Knowledge of Brahman i.e. the ultimate substratum, and that Knowledge is Brahman itself or Consciousnes as Consciousness is the substratum for all Knowledge, whether Real or False. Maya is responsible for the entire creation including the Body, Mind (including the Ego) and Intellect. BMI have no independent existence and are subject to change, and therefore are Unreal and therefore Knowledge of BMI is also unreal. The Maya itself is Unreal as without its creation, which is unreal, its effects cannot be experienced. The entire problem is ignorance of What is Real Knowledge and What is False or Unreal Knowledge. Guest guest
Namaste, Respected Member, <<my question is, why would we give such weight and value as an argument or as an object of perception to the unreal? why do we give it so much 'reality'?>> The weight is given till we realize the Truth, rather ignorance about the Truth is removed. After that not giving weight and value to perception of unreal itself does arise at all. It goes without saying that no weight is given at that “stage” (?) to reality, as weight is given only to relative items, and as you know very well, reality is not relative, but absolute. <suppose, just for the sake 'neti-neti' to acknowledge that drishya exists at the moment of discarding its reality (but this defeats the purpose of neti-neti)>>. This is only a prakriya for removal of ignorance, and once that has been done, there is no prakriya, nor any sastras, etc. etc. My very little knowledge is the basis for my above observations, please.
