Guest guest
Namaste all. Ochman's razor: Earth is the centre of everything. Planets and stars go around it. Simplest and most harmless observation till Eratosthenes (sp?) mercilessly smashed it centuries ago. And we did accept it although we first made sure to finish the guy off most kindly. If we are, therefore, to accept advaita, the razor should be kept miles away, lest it will hurt, be it called lAghava or parsimony. But, once we see through the logic of advaita and live it, we won't need any razors any more as we would be growing the beards of wisdom. Vishalji's red colour: The other fellow may be seeing `my green' and calling it red as he is taught to do from childhood. In fact, this is a thought I expressed in my philosophy answer paper during college days and, thank heavens, I scraped through the exam although it was an unwarranted digression on my part considering the nature of the question I was answering. However, after about forty years thence, I won't dare do that again as an advaitin. The reason: Advaita is about me. The other fellow and the supposition that he might be seeing `my green' in the place of `my red' are just my objectifications. Both belong to the realm of mAyA. What does it therefore matter to an advaitin unless he is taking off from his meditative life to explore the unending plurality of the world? In the enquiry after the Light that lighted up both, the supposition loses its philosophical grandeur despite its seeming novelty. PraNAms.
