I reside at Bangalore and aged 65 years, am completely retired and of late have been trying to grasp some spiritual ideas. I spent considerable part of my working life (I was primarily a manufacturing man ) in Bombay, Delhi and Nasik. I graduated in electrical engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 1960......... My spiritual curiosity was awakened quite early in this life. Although my maternal grandparents who lived in Bangalore were quite involved in traditional religious observances ( my grandfather , Sri A. V. Ramanathan, was a Shishya of Sri Chandrashekara Bharathi of Sringeri ), I grew up in Kolar Gold Fields where my father worked in the gold mines. I was surrounded by English children and Anglo- Indians in the colony and apart from one opportunity to listen to Sengalipuram Sri Anantharama Dikshitar on `Narayaneeyam', I had little opportunity to get involved in Hindu spirituality........ In Kharagpur, a year later, I came in touch with Swami Vivekananda and during a summer vacation could get the chance to hear Swami Chinmayananda on " Karma Yoga ". All this made a deep impression. Subsequently, during a sojourn of five years in the UK, I got a chance to read a lot of Swami Vivekananda and became deeply interested in the Gita.............. In 1980 I took Diksha from Swami Vireswarananda Maharaj at the Ramakrishna Mission, read all about Sri Ramakrishna and visited Shirdi..................... In trying to answer these questions , I have written little modules ...they may ultimately number about ten or even fifteen ...
