Guest guest
Oh My Mother! I am amazed at your play on my consciousness. I don't know how many more diamonds, rubies and gems you have created for your play of maya. When are you going to remove my veil and take me to your fold? Please, Please, come soon Jayaraman ==========PLEASE READ BELOW============ "If anyone's ever promised you the sun, the moon and the stars, tell 'em you'll settle for BPM 37093." Lucy In The Sky Astronomers recently said a white dwarf star they have been studying is actually a giant diamond. It is 4000 kilometres across and approximately 10 billion trillion trillion carats (1 and 34 zeroes). This cosmic gem is about 50 light years away in the constellation Centaurus. A white dwarf is the remnant of a star that has burnt up its nuclear fuel and died. Such stars are mostly carbon, with a thin hydrogen-helium gas coating. In this case, the carbon crystallised into diamond. Astronomers worked out it had a diamond core by measuring its internal pulsations. Astronomer Travis Metcalfe calls it "the mother of all diamonds." The star's astronomical name is BPM 37093. Metcalfe says, "Some people refer to it as Lucy in tribute to the Beatles song 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.'" Our sun will burn out five billion years from now, become a dwarf and, two billion years later, get a diamond core. Global diamond output is 115 million carats. Lucy could supply mankind's need for 90 trillion trillion years. This is a news item from Hindustan Times newspaper Delhi edition dt 18-02-04.
