Like you say, SUnya is dependent and consciousness (a la advaita) is not

dependent. Advaita would never say that consciousness is dependent. One might

say either that it is independent of everything, or that it is beyond

independence/dependence. But emptiness doesn't work that way. The emptiness of

the cup is dependent upon the cup.
