Guest guest
Ovi21) After giving many examples regarding guru sisya relationship,Dyanadeva stated that those who are drowning in a mirage are rescued by his(guru,s )solid help but those thus saved do not exist anywhere thereafter. Comments:the example of a mirage is unique and paradoxical. As it is impossible to drown in a mirage,Dyanadeva says human beings are frantically trying to find happiness in the material world and not realising the changeless one is happiness, keep looking for it in this transient world and get drowned by the miseries and sorrows.here the guru,s solid help is denoting his deep knowledge,so,( in spite of being solid nature)rescues the sisya to the shore(illusory)The mystical aspect is that the rescued sisya disappears(become enlightened,)so they realise their true nature and understand that the world itself is everchanging and unreal. Ovi42)As the camphor square does not survive in the flame of fire;so too, names and forms do not survive in his (precepter's) presence This is an example given to illustrate that when the precepter makes the sisya see the final truth by his flame of knowledge The identity of sisya as separate being dissappears. Ovi63) Or the camphor and it's fragrance are camphor only like sweetness and jaggery(molasses)are one and the same jaggery. Note: jaggery was a product of boiling sugarcane juice and is sweet used commonly.in india. The guru and sisya merge together as sugar and sweetness Thus with many other examples Dyanadeva praised his precepter Nivritti and bowed to him.In the next c chapter,Dyanadeva describes the redeeming of the debt of speech.
