Guest guest
Namaste, In my book I see no difference, only a difference in audience and semantics. Buddha became a Mukta under the Bodhi tree, I don't know the history of Sankara's realisation, it may have been when he was only thirteen or so. Jesus's seems to have come with his death on the cross, whether the body survived afterwards is not the question. So yes Sankara and Buddha taught the same truth, but in different ways to different people. To people of lower awareness Advaita can be mistranslated as Atheism, hence the exhortations to devotion of some kind. There can be only one truth and most would achieve moksha after waiting in the Brahmaloka for mahapralaya. Sure all is illusion and both Buddha and Sankara talked of constituents in this illusion. For that understanding is peeling the onion. IMO opinion there are very few people who achieve Moksha whilst still alive, even an avatar has a veil and a mind........ONS..Tony.
