Guest guest
Namaste, All Recently I came across a very interesting meaningful prayer to the Lord. “Oh Lord, what should I offer to you? If I offer something people may say I am trying to bribe you, and I also feel by offering you anything I will be fooling you, as any offering I can give belongs to you only. Even I cannot offer you myself, as you authored me. Oh Lord, still I want to offer you something. What can I offer you? I can offer something which you do not have. I can I offer something which I have in plenty. I can pray you for giving me that which I do not have at all. Can I offer such a thing? Oh Lord, yes Lord, I offer my ignorance, which you do not have at all being Sarvagna, to you and pray, have mercy on me, Oh Lord give me Knowledge”. Hari Om Finance Tax Center - File online. It also serves its purpose: 1. Selflessly offering something. 2. Unconditionally surrendering oneself. Satyameva Jayate Naanrtam
Guest guest
Namaste, Is there any selfless offering or action? Please tell me what is the meaning of "selfless offering. Evcen an idiot will not do anything without expecting some return. What do you mean by surrendering? What is "unconditioinal surrendering?" I do not know how to surrender. In fact, my intellect is tired of these words,i.e. "Selfless action", "surrendering", "words cannot describe it", etc. etc. Please throw some light. Guest guest
Namaste Maniji, It is a fool who would not offer without asking for something in return. What is our's that you have given to expect something in return? Whatever we earn is the soceity's property. Gold is nature's gift, that we consider it ours is our folly. Will you save sand in place of gold? (from Gita) It takes time to realize that (from this please don't conclude that I have realized it. I am still trying to practice it.) Guest guest
yes balaji! nothing belongs to us ! the very first verse in isa upanishad says that ... Om Isha vasyam idam sarvam, yat kincha jagatyam jagat' " All this- whatever exists in this changing. universe, is pervaded by God" - Isa Upanishad on another note, that was a beautiful prayer ! i liked that a lot! I wlll be looking forward to doing 'karate' with you on the meaning of gods/godesses ? i have won 'black' belt on this topic! smiles ! ((((love and blessings)))))))
Guest guest
Namaste dadiji, Alright, this universe is prevaded by the Lord. Well said point. But what do we do about it? How is that going to help us in the path to realization. This is an assertion of the Upanishad Rishi. True it is, but more important is the advice he gives as thus: 'Tena tyaktena bhunjeethah ma grtat kasya svit dham Kurvann eva iha karmani ijjeeviche shatham samah Evam tvayi nanyata asti na karma lipyate nare' where the disciple is urged to 'tyaj' (renounce) worldly desires and perform those duties prescribed. This is of greater relevance to the beginner. That the whole world is manifest in Brahman and Brahman manifest in the world is something he needn't worry about right now. Guest guest
Thanks Maniji for the prayer. I notice a hitch. Isn't offering Him our ignorance enough? Do we have to ask for Knowledge? If He takes what is offered Him, isn't what remains Knowledge?! PraNAms. Guest guest
Namaste all A beuatiful prayer I picked up from Swami Vivekanada site long ago. "Lord, I do not want wealth, nor children, nor learning. If it be Thy will, I shall go from birth to birth, but grant me this, that I may love Thee without the hope of reward — love unselfishly for love's sake." It helps when I worry about whether I am making progres in the spiritual path or whether the lord will be with me through all the births I may still have to go through. This moment , I can say this prayer and feel the peace.
