Guest guest
Namaste All, A disciple asked Swamiji, ”Swamiji, you talk on Truth, and say to search for Truth etc.” “Can you define Truth, Swamiji?” Swamiji: “Why not, ‘Truth is that, which cannot be negated’”. Disciple: “Is there such a thing that cannot be negated?” “I cannot make out.” Swamiji: “yes, definitely there is such a thing, that cannot be negated”. Disciple: “Please, then tell me what is that thing”. Swamiji: “You figure it out”. Disciple: “Okay, Swamiji, let me think over, and I will come to you tomorrow”. Next day the disciple came and said “Swamiji, whole night I thought and tried, but I still cannot find such a thing that cannot be negated”. “I think there is no such thing as Truth”. Swamiji: “There is Truth” and “You must find it and you can find out what it is if you think deep and properly”. Somehow, the disciple, being quite young, did not want to be defeated, and said “Okay, Swamiji, let me try again, as, if there is such a thing that cannot be negated and that is what you call Truth, it cannot escape my enquiry”. “Let me come tomorrow”. Next morning the chap returned and said “Swamiji, yes, I admit I cannot find such a thing, and I think there is no such thing called Truth.” Swamiji: “Dear one, there is such a thing, and I will tell you and that is “YOU”. You try to negate yourself!” Disciple: “Oh Swamiji, yes it is true, yes I can negate everything but how I can I negate myself,” “It is wonderful Swamiji”. Swamiji: “Now you understand?” Disciple: “Yes, Swamiji, but why did it not occur to me?” "How could you figure it out?" Swamiji: “That is why I am Swamiji”. (From Poojya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s writings). Yes, I fail to include myself in all my enquiries and search for the Truth everywhere. I am part and parcel of that Truth, and the enquiry must start from myself. Hari om Finance Tax Center - File online. File on time.
Guest guest
Namaste Maniji, When the post began, I thought Swamiji is going to be Varuna at the end and all that.... but somehow the story seems very very optimistic. It appears that such a thing when told by a swamiji to me would make me realize it. I wish one fine day a swamiji would tell me "The truth, that cannot be negated is you." But "wiser people will not talk" someone quoted today. How did this swamiji wordify the truth and how did the young chap agree to it. Can just mere speculation be satisfactory? If that were the case: Let me say this to myself "anando brahmedivyajanat anandat eva khalu imani bhutani jayante....." - Upanishad And see if it can make me realize the truth. Let me try it now.......... Nothing happened! I don't feel enlightened! I still have Raaga and dvesha (The test I use to find if I have realized the Truth. I thought I could keep it as a trade secret, but this group is great. People here may be knowing everything.) Guest guest
Namaste All, Please don't misunderstand me. I was just trying to test everything. Being a human being, I don't think it is wrong to question anything. It is my very nature. I hope it doesn't appear like arrogance. Guest guest
Not at all, dear Balaji, This is how one learns, by asking questions and counter questions. Keep it up.
