Guest guest
Swami Dayananda Saraswati on “What or Who is God?” “This world is an intelligent assembly serving definite purpose and therefore it is a creation. The maker of a given thing must have the knowledge of that thing. The Creator of everything must be sarvajna, Omniscient. Since heaven is also a part of the creation, heaven could not have been there before the creation. So where was God before the creation of heaven? Dream is even a better model to explain the creation of the world where the Lord is both the Maker and the Material. In your dream you create a world merely by sankalpa, by thought. You think of an object, that object is. If space is a part of creation, spaced cannot be separate from its material cause. The Lord is the material cause for this universe. So what is space? Space is the Lord. Time is also the Lord. Air, water, fire, earth, all these are the Lord. The sun, the moon, the planets, the stars, all of these are the Lord. Your physical body, which is made of the five elements, is again the Lord. The breath is the Lord, the sense organs are the Lord, the mind is the Lord, and the consciousness behind them all is also the Lord. God is to be understood and not believed in. Isvara is not a matter for belief. Isvara is to be understood. You do not require only a particular altar to invoke the Lord. You can invoke Him anywhere because what is that which is not the Lord? The Lord is called ‘He’ from the standpoint of the maker and called ‘She’ from the standpoint of the material. In fact, we use ‘He’ and ‘She’ interchangeably and use ‘It’ to indicate the truth of them both. If God is different from you, He does not include you, which means that God is mighty but not almighty. There is only God and so if someone invokes Him as Rama or Krishna, that is fine, if someone invokes Him as Allah, that is fine and if someone invokes Him as Jesus, that is also fine. Only when God is understood does this fact becomes obvious. If someone cannot accept the fact of people invoking God in different names and forms, it is their problem. We have no problems because we do not have many Gods, we do not even have one God, WE HAVE ONLY GOD.” Finance Tax Center - File online. File on time. Guest guest
Namaste Maniji. Timely quote. That should satisfy the God-hunters! Please keep quoting off and on. But, what Benji wants is a discussion on our deities. I wanted to write about my iStadEvatA Mother. However, I being an advaitin, She is Consciousness to me, ominipresent yet ineffable. What and how shall I write about Her then? PraNAms. Madathil Nair _______________________ advaitin, "R.S.MANI" <r_s_mani> wrote: > Swami Dayananda Saraswati on "What or Who is God?"
