Here is the full text with English translation for those of us who are not familiar with the Sanskrit Language ... satsangatwe nissangatwam, nissangatwe nirmohatwam, nirmohatwe nischalatatwam, nischalatatwe jeevanmukthih. "The company of the good takes one away from false atttachments; When attachment is lost, delusion ends; When delusion ends, the mind becomes steady; >From steady mind comes liberation even in this life." This is the literal meaning. now. i would like to ask members here what is meant by the company of the *Good* ? meanwhile, on this Thursday dedicated to the Guru, let me share another lovely verse on "Sat-SANGATI" Kalpa Dhru mah kalpitam eva sute kamadhu ku kamitam eva do gid chintamani chintitam eva date satam tu sam gha sakalam prasute The kalpavR^iksha (the celestial tree) produces only what you can imagine, The kAmadhenu (the celestial cow) milks only what you want. The chintAmaNi (the gem of gems) give you only what you have thoughtabout. However good company produces everything. (Its benefits are not limited by your thoughts desires or imagination! now, if you sit in the company of One Person who has realized the "Truth" , that itself is the best form of 'Satsangati' ... So, the Four disciples who sat With Guru Dakshinamurthy were in real satsangati! ON THIS DAY dedicated to Guru, let us honor Guru Dakshinamurthy by remebering Him through this verse ...from Adi Shankara's Sri Dakshinamurthy STOTRA ... vishvaM darpaNadR^ishyamaananagariitulyaM nijaantargataM pashyannaatmani maayayaa bahirivod.hbhuutaM yadaa nidrayaa . yaH saakshaatkurute prabodhasamaye svaatmaanamevaadvayaM tasmai shriigurumuurtaye nama idaM shriidakshiNaamuurtaye .. 1.. } The universe is the reflection of a mirror. The Truth is the supreme Brahman, the one without a second. The mind, senses and intellect are all able to only discern the reflection of the Atman. The identity of the brahman and the Atman is apparent after self- illumination. I offer my profound salutations to the auspicious Guru, who is an embodiment of Dakshinamurti, and whose grace is responsible for the illumination. salutations to the guru of all gurus, shri Dakshinamurthy!
