But as long as those clouds remain, we require some degree of faith, but it is not the faith of blind subservience but rather the kind of faith we might have in an older brother or sister. Hello! knock! knock! are you there? we all know the story of 'cain and abel' in which Cain killed his own brother abel ? then how can one have faith in one's own brother? we also know that Vibshina betrayed his own brother Ravana although the consequences were beneficial. we also know how Yuddhistra bartered away his kingdom and 4 brothers and wife Draupadi in a 'gambling' match with the kauravas! we also know how Karna was disowned by the pandavas ( his brother) though out of ignorance... there are many examples where one cannot blindly have faith in a brother or a sister, sibling rivalry notwithstanding! But any day I would put my faith in Adi SHANKARA, Shri Ramana Maharishi , Shri AUROBINDO, Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa , etc etc.... i would also put my faith in the Bible, gita, vedas, upanishads , shankara bhasyams , Ramana gita, ashtavakra gita, brahma samhia, avadhuta gita, yoga vasishta etc etc... i would also put my faith in SHIVA OM tryaübakaü yajàmahe sugandhiü puùñivardhanaü | urvàrukamiva bandhanànmçtyormukùãya ma.amçtàt || I bow down to that three-eyed Lord Siva, who is full of sweet fragrance, who nourishes the human beings. May He free me from the bondage of Samsara and death, just as a ripe cucumber fruit is separated from the creeper. May I be fixed in Immortality!
