How can there be Shiva and not Shakti? yes, indeed! This reminds me of some verses from Jnanadeva's immortal work 'Amritanubhava' ... (chapter2) 1) Shiva AND SHAKTI are seated on the same ground.(EXISTENCE) and they wear the same ornaments of Light(knowledge). From time immemorial they dwely happily in union. 2) It is through God (shiva) that the other is Goddess (shivAa)and without HER the lord is nowhere. AS a matter of fact their existence is due to each other . 3) The two cannot be distinguished because the appearance of her lord is due to Her while her existence is due to Him! 4) Two lute produce one musical note. The flowers are two but the fragrance is one. 5) Shakti is inseperable from siva just like musk and its fragrance, fire and its heat. MEMBERS , join me in saluting the cosmic couple Shiva and shakti on this SOMAVARA!
