thank you chit-ranjan-ji!

i am glad this ignorant jiva was able to make some Waves in this

Ocean of Knowledgeble advaitins !!! SMILES!

speaking of which, i would like to quote our beloved Adi Shankara

Bhagvadapada ... on the relationship between The Jiva and the

Paramatma !!!

In Shatpadi stora, beloved Adi sgankara bhagvadapada sings

thus .... ...

Satyapi bhedApaga me nAtha

tavAham na mAmakI na stvaM,

sAmudrohi taraGgaH kva ca na

samudro na tAraGgaH. (verse 3)

Oh Lord!MY Protector! Even with the difference (between You and me)

passing off, I become Yours but You do not become mine. Indeed

(though there is no difference between the waves and the ocean) the

wave belongs to the ocean but nowhere (never) does the ocean belong

to the wave. (3)

well, the wave is different from the ocean but can the wave exist

without the ocean?

The origin and source of the wave is the ocean, is it not?

in a similar vein, the Paramatama is the origin of everything .

There is *oneness* between the jivatma (individual soul) and

paramatma (the super soul) ? but, there is simeltaneous "difference"

as well!!

So, to express this in ordinary language, the 16, 000 gopis

(jivatmas) exist only because of Mayeshwara (lord krishna, the

illusion maker) and not the other way round !

Greatness of adi shankara is explained in this verse ....

" Yenaadheetani saastraani bhagavat-sankaraahvayaat; Nissesha soori

moordhaali maala leedhaanghripankajaat".

It says that all the great seekers of truth (soori) in the country,

without exception, acknowledged the greatness of Sri Sankara by

bowing their heads at his lotus feet. Such a great soul felt humble

after composing Soundarya Lahari and dedicated it to the Supreme

Mother. In that way, he taught the world and us the lesson of

humility and the need for eschewing from one's nature egoism or

arrogance, realising that all merits are derived from the divine

source.

(kamakoti.org)

(Thnaks to professorji for bringing the beauty and splendor of the

verses of Saundarya lahari to this and other groups!! ))

And our great sufi poet, Rumi expresses the same sentiment thus ...

Listen, O Drop, give yourself up without regret,

and in exchange gain the OCEAN.

Listen, O Drop, bestow upon yourself the honor,

and in the arms of the SEA be secure.

who indeed should be so fortunate?

an ocean wooing a drop

in God's Name, in God's name , Sell and but at once!

Give a drop, and take this SEA full of

Pearls.

GOVINDAM! ADI PURUSHAM! AHAM BAJAMI!!!

LOVE AND BLESSINGS

Namaste Adiji,

Thank you for the reference to Shatpadi stotram. This stotram opens

with the line 'avinayam apanaya viShNo'. The great acharya starts

with a prayer to remove arrogance. Such is the vinaya of

acharya. "Vidyaa vinayena shobhate'.

Another example:

na jaanaami shabdam na jaanaami caartham

na jaanaami padyam na jaanaami gadyam |

cidekaa shadaasya hridi dyotate me

mukhaan nissarante girashcaapi citram ||

(I know not great words and their meanings. Nor do I know poetic

meter or prose style. But in my heart shines the six-faced effulgent

form and because of that this wonderful song pours out of my mouth)

- Subrahmanya bhujangam verse 2.

Such is the greatness of acharya.

Bhava shankara desika me carNam!

Harih Om!

Fascinating.

Direct-speak is the emergent manner of manifesting what is.

Thus song is the spark of life,

and the spark of life is song.
