Guest guest
Speaking of idealism, here is a PDF paper by S. Radhakrishnan, the famous scholar of Indian philosophies. Just found it and haven't read it yet, by I am sure it is relevant to this list (at least for the philosophy students like me). www.bergen.edu/phr/121/RadhakrishnanGC.pdf Benjamin
Guest guest
Good Morning Benjamin, This is one of Radhakrishnan's Hibbert Lectures given in the UK in 1929. They are collected together in a book called 'An Idealist View of Life' published by George Allen and Unwin. This is a book to be recommended to those who would like to hear the authentic South Asian 'voice' expressed through a discussion of popular Western philosophies of his time. He presents Shankara alongside Descartes, Locke, Kant, Schopenhauer and Bergson in a chapter on Intellect and Intuition; he argues the need for intuition in philosophy. Bets wishes Ken Knight ===== ‘From this Supreme Self are all these, indeed, breathed forth.’ Friends. Fun. Guest guest
Thank you, Ken-ji. A welcome tidbit of information. I didn't want to thank you on the list because such peripheral messages are now frowned upon, and I posted too many yesterday anyway!
