Namaste Sunderji,

Have a look at www.safer-networking.org

This is a Freeware program. When I first ran it I

found 70+ nasties lurking around that was spying into

my on-line habits. I now run it weekly and have found

a couple more are sneaked in each week. It has helped

me clear a great deal of junk from the system.

Hope it helps,

===I cleaned out 1779 last weekend! The worst was a nasty that hijacked my

browser to a homepage of its choosing (a sex- and gambling-site search page). I

downloaded Ad-Aware and SpyBot from www.cnet.com that fixed it. There's also a

setting in Internet Explorer that sets it to delete all temporary files every

time you close the browser.

These settings can become a real headache! They are spread over three

different tabs - Security, Advanced - security, etc.

It certainly slows down the 'surfing'. This is the message I got when

I tried to open the last message:

"Your browser is not accepting our cookies. To view this page, please

set your browser preferences to accept cookies (code 5).

Try Again" !!!!!!!!!

Namaste!

I understand your frustrations, but I think it is worth the effort

to update the settings. You would set the browser to accept 'First

Party Cookies' but block 'Third Party Cookies'. You can do this by

going to the Advanced button on the Privacy tab. I hope this helps.

Thank you! That certainly helped. This is not one of

the 'Default'settings. Wonder if they will ever make this 'User-

friendly!!
