Guest guest
Thank you Kenneth-ji ! first , for that wonderful quotation from Ezra Pound. Your post not only makes sense but is full of wisdom. As you may be aware, Veda is derived from the root word 'vid' which means 'to know' . So, veda means 'knowledge' . Vak means the 'word' and in my language Tamizh, there is a phrase called 'veda vak' - for example , to me whatever my guru says is 'veda vak' that is whatever my guru says requires my implicit obedience because it is as sacred as the word from the vedas ( veda vak) ! And VAC is very sacred and powerful. In the path of Knowledge ,( Jnana marga ) Guru's Upadesha (spiritual instructions) becomes the sacred 'vac' in the path of devotion (bhakti marga), Vak takes the form of nama- japa or prayer re, repeating the names of God to reach the lotus feet of the Divine. so, indeed , kenneth-ji - you are absolutely right when you say "This intuitive process perhaps resembles that that of the creation as well as that way in which Vedas were heard and revealed by the rishis." YES ! and indeed a big YES! "The vedic Vak does not contain revelation. She is revelation. She was at the beginning. She is the whole of the Shruti. The shruti is Vak. " ( raimon panikkar) and note how Vak (word) is being referred to as 'she' (feminine gender) and later on when the time is right, i will post the Devi Sukta , a powerful hymn from the Rig veda , where the Vak is revered as the Queen . " i am the ruling Queen, the amasser of treasures, full of wisdom, first of those worthy of worship. In various places, the divine powers have set me. I enter many homes and take numerous forms." thank you , once again for all your wonderful posts. Aum Iti! love and regards
