Namaste,

Now that is bravery: to go shopping. Yeukh!!. My wife

and I avoid it as much as possible. Definitely a Kali

Yuga pastime.

I would have liked more discussion on this one

earlier. We did not touch upon the beauty of

Calligraphy for example or other art forms for

presenting Rtam/Satyam. However, my last posting in

the first section of this study...to be posted

tomorrow...includes Yaska's statement:

'When they had to pass on their insight to their

children, their disciples or other interested persons,

they had to expand their insights through explanations

and instructions, upadeSha, and thereby created the

spiritual tradition known as sampradAya. YAska uses

the word sampradu.

‘They (seers) by oral instruction handed down the

hymns to later generations who were destitute of

direct intuitive insight. The later generations,

declining in (power of) oral communication, compiled

this work, the Veda, and the auxiliary Vedic

treatises, in order to comprehend their meaning.’

Nirukta I.20

If we are to accept that at one level, the process of

the Mahayuga is one of decline....emanation from the

inner to the outer maybe......then it is necessary for

wisdom to be held in the most appropriate form for the

age.

Cn u imgin a txt mssge smhta?

That seems even worse than the thought of shopping.

May you soon find your traditional teacher of the

Vedas and may your advaitin wisdom long grace this

site.

Happy holidays and thank you for the blessings,

Dear Ken-Ji:

Here is something to think about from the naasadiiya suuktaa, where

the R^iShi essentially in principally admits that he is not capable

of understanding what is that thing or the one who is behind all this?

iyaM visR^iShTiryata aavabhuuva yadi vaa dadhe yadi vaa na |

yo asyaaddhyaxaH paramevyoman tsyo aNgaveda yadi vaa va veda || 129.7

||

Liberal meaning as I understand it (Not the WEB)

Here the mantra draShTa R^iShi says - From whom this universe

originated, sustained by or/and in which it dissolves, does the

parameshvara the (addhyaxa -chairman of Universe) really understands

or not, is beyond (my) comprehension !!?

That is why upanishada used the "methodology of negation" (neti-neti)

for trying to find the truth.

With best wishes and regards to all in their personal quest for

understanding "maayaa in R^igveda".

In may view it is like trying to arrive at the conclusion based on

the limited understanding of reflection of the image and then trying

to kiss it. But every KISS begins with a "Key". (One may use this as

a transliteration for the English alphabet (K) or understand the

English word that unlocks the universal understanding.)
