Guest guest
Note from the List Moderators: Namaste, We extend a cordial welcome to another new member to the list. We would like all members, (new - old - returning) - to feel at home in this 'advaita-cyber-satsang', and share the spiritual wisdom they are familiar with, within the scope of this list. Those who feel shy and prefer to remain anonymous can still send their ideas/questions/etc. to any of the Moderators for a response. We hope you will enjoy your participation, and share your joy with us. Advaitin List Moderators ---- My humble namaskaar to all of you, I have been accepted as a member of your enriching community, but I thought I would introduce myself as some other new members have. Name:Vijayshankar Ananthanarayanan Age:25 Base Location: Bangalore, India Current Location:Jamshedpur, India Edu.& Prof. Background: Schooling-National Public School Bangalore BE (E&C)-RV College of Engineering Bangalore, 2001 Worked for 29 months as a software engineer with ITC Infotech, Bangalore Have just started my MBA (HR) at XLRI, Jamshedpur I was initiated into the Shrichakra-based, SaparyaPaddhati Srividya Upasana on the day of my Upanayanam day at the age of 6, by my Grandfather, who is my Guru. He has been performing a complete Navaavarna Pooja unbroken for the last 30 plus yrs-divine souls like Sri Sri Abhinava VidyatirthaSwamiji and Sri Sri BharatatirthaSwamiji have visited us and performed poojas here as well. Today is incidentally the Ghadasthapanam of the Varahi Navaratri, one of the 4 Navaraatris that we celebrate each yr (the other being Sharan, Vasanta and Shyamala ). I have had a passion for Indian philosophy and mythology since childhood. Having learnt a bit on the Upasana front for the last 19 yrs, primarily through the Bhakti and Aahnika aspects, I am looking to get into the depths of Adi Sankara's divine thoughts....a task that I realise is rather elusive...as I get to understand one aspect of his teachings, it seems like the beginning of the next level of subtlety...in short, I want to temper myself through Bhakti and Jnana and hopefully get closer to where the great Jagadguru wanted us to reach. I am overwhelmed by the quantity and more so, the quality of discussions here. I hope to derive as much as I can from your valuable discussions, and contribute in any way to either the discussions or the other features of the group. My other interests include Carnatic classical music, Ghazals and quizzing. Thank you very much for your acceptance. Shri Paradevata prasadasiddhirastu.
